What skills and knowledge do professionals in a leading position need to organize a cultural aware environment in institutions of ECEE and how can a curriculum look like to teach such competences? To clarify these questions, the RECOdE project welcomed about 20 participants with different professional backgrounds from different countries at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, to our third Multiplier Event.
The two-days meeting included a keynote speech by Dr. Anke Hoffstadt, University of Applied Science Düsseldorf, about testing braver spaces and the development of study programs addressing ideologies of inequality. We also discussed with the participants of the event our suggestions for a framework for cultural awareness and a curriculum for the education of BA and MA students. Furthermore, we learned a lot about different perspectives on governance and leadership from our participants and their presentations. The event made clear that professionals do not need only knowledge in the context of cultural awareness, but they also should reflect their own biography and their social and cultural entanglements.
We thank all participants of the event and the valuable contributions. Here you find some impressions of the meeting!
The next meeting will take at the University of Stavanger in February 2024. More information about the date and the agenda will be available soon.
